About the Journal

The Journal of the Bulgarian Orthopaedics and Trauma Association (JBOTA) is official publication of the Bulgarian Orthopaedics and Trauma Association (BOTA).  JBOTA is a specialized medical quarterly journal with the mission of spreading novelties, scientific achievements, clinical experience and debatable topics in the field of orthopaedics and traumatology, and also in that of border specialties.

The Journal of the Bulgarian Orthopaedics and Trauma Association is published online at its website and as a printed matter. The printed matter and the online version are issued four times per year. Supplements of the same volume can be published in addition to it.

The main goal of the journal is to popularize to the scientific work and clinical experience of orthopaedic surgeons from Bulgaria and all over the world and open discussions on problems from the full spectrum of orthopaedics and traumatology. We welcome original scientific papers, theorecical and experimental analyses, case reports, ect.

Peer Review Process

The submitted papers should be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission to JBOTA. All paper submissions will be refereed in a double-blind review process by at least two international reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access to all of its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author's work.

The publication in this journal is free of charge thanks to the generous support of thе Bulgarian Orthopaedics and Traumatology Association (BOTA)
